That’s it! Another big milestone for the stupa project. Last Monday 21st December, the day of the Winter solstice, Geshe Dakpa performed the earth digging ritual. Like so many of those auspicious events it seems, it bucketed down with rain. The rain started minutes before the puja started and it carried on pouring all day. The next morning the sun was shining again – this is California after all.
Where are we at now? Tom’s gearing up for starting construction on the actual cremation base and the thrones for the three surrounding kadampa stupas as early as December 28th. We’re busy gathering all items for filling both thrones and stupa – we’re receiving packages almost daily of donations of jewelry; melted snow; ocean water; holy earth and the like. Cash donations are coming in – thank you all! And we still have some way to go – but we’ll get there, for sure we’ll get there.
Donate now to help us bring this project to completion. Our current target is $44,000.
May all who contribute in any way to this project reap the fruit of pure guru devotion, the root of the path to enlightenment, and may all their temporal and ultimate wishes be fulfilled.
